Please join us for our presentation on May 28th at 6:00pm at Cork Wine Shop (1106 12th Street, Hood River). Please register to attend due to limited space.
Nick Legg, a geomorphologist and geologist with Lichen Land & Water, will present on Making Room for Rivers & People. Rivers need room to thrive but also provide critically important benefits to people and communities. While these overlapping needs hint at a tension that has degraded ecosystems through time, they also point to an opportunity for river restoration to support a multitude of benefits for ecosystems and people. This presentation will highlight examples of how restoring room for rivers benefits human needs, including increased infrastructure resilience, recreation, and safety.
Join us in person at Cork Wine Shop at 6:00 pm to hear Watershed Group project and member updates, followed by the presentation. Show up between 5 and 6pm for a social hour at Cork. Wine and beer will be available for purchase; snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be complimentary.
