Storm Drain Markers to Protect Our Creeks

The Watershed Group and the Indian Creek Stewards have begun a project to place “Do Not Dump, Drains to Stream” markers by storm drains throughout the City of Hood River.  Storm drains flow directly into streams, creeks, and rivers without going through a water treatment facility.  Therefore anything poured into a storm drain, whether it is motor oil, detergent, or hazardous chemicals, flows directly into our watershed and can harm fish and the environment.

In order to expand the storm drain marker project, the Watershed Group is looking for business and community partners.  If you are interested in participating in this project, please contact Cindy.
